Quran Institute Director  (1 position):

Community Center Profile

Established in 2007, the MAS Community Center (MASCC), located in Alexandria, Virginia, serves the Muslim community in Northern Virginia by providing educational, religious, and social activities with the mission to raise generations of committed and proud American Muslim Citizens.

Job Description

MASCC is looking for a full-time qualified Quranic Institute Director who has experience, passion, leadership, and skills to lead the Quranic Institute and expand its programs.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the Institute’s goals and objectives
  • Participate in the development of the Institute’s programs to meet the needs of the various segments and age groups within the community
  • Teach classes under the various programs and prepare lesson plans, tests, and grading.
  • Act as a substitute teacher as needed
  • Act as a curriculum advisor and support the Institute’s teachers’ team by providing training and guidance as needed
  • Participate in the recruitment of new teachers and conduct interviews as part of the Institute’s hiring committee
  • Attend periodical team meetings and provide feedback on the implementation of the Institute’s objectives and day to day activities
  • Maintain a healthy, positive teamwork environment and build strong parent-teacher / student-teacher partnerships

 

Qualifications

  • Hafiz of Quran
  • Masters rules of Tajweed, recitation, and Tafseer
  • Knowledge of Islamic Jurisdiction, Fiqh, and, Sirah
  • Charismatic personality
  • Able to develop programs for different ages
  • Arabic Communication Skills
  • English Communication Skills

Salary and Benefits

Tutors for Math, Science, and English

MAS-DC is looking to hire college students for after school tutoring programs at MAS-DC. Applicants must present current grades. Tutors needed for Math, Science, English. Program will be Thursdays from 4-6pm, $13/hr.

Youth Coordinator  (1 position)

Position:   Youth Coordinator

Hours:      20 per week

Rate:         Starting first 3 Months $12 An Hour

Qualifications  Required

  • Minimum of 20 years of age
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working within Youth, Teen, or Family programming
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and role model quality customer service, and effectively evaluate other staff
  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated organization and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Basic computer skills

Job Description

The Youth Coordinator is responsible for overseeing various program areas within the youth department including but not limited to sports. The incumbent provides quality service and ensures a safe, fun, and positive environment within the youth, teen, and family program and department.

Responsibilities 

  • Assist Youth Director in planning curriculum, and coordinating and promoting Youth programming including but not limited to sports
  • Work hands-on in programs, activities and special events as needed
  • Take ownership with all social media platforms. (Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.).
  • Provide quality service to staff, volunteers and participants
  • Perform administrative duties which support the Youth programs
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of department trainings and meeting coordination
  • In the absence Youth director, the youth coordinator will provide work direction to staff and volunteers and oversees daily operations
  • Hire and train staff to promote youth programs.
  • Supervise everyday activities and prepare reports for same.
  • Analyze youth requirements, develop programs and identify resources for same.
  • Coordinate with various teams to meet all youth requirements.
  • Design and execute programs and ensure inclusion of various recreation and sports activities.
  • Evaluate program activities and implement it to achieve all objectives.
  • Prepare a schedule of programs and ensure maximum results.
  • Monitor performance of staff to ensure efficient functioning

The candidate must:

  • Speak Arabic “ Fusha” اللغة العربية الفصحى fluently.
  • Have experience with teaching and dealing with the students from 3 to 5 years old.
  • Recite the Quran extremely well (With professional pronunciation of the letters with “Tajweed”, and No mistakes).
  • Be available to work Monday through Friday from 8:15-3:45pm with some flexibility to work on Saturdays, in addition to attending and helping in related events.
  • You are creative and dynamic with the ability to teach and share the fun with students.
  • Have a clear voice and excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to speak, communicate and read English fluently.

Construction Manager  (1 position):

Position Overview 
• Works as part of the Project Team, assisting with the development of scope and schedule for project work.
• Provide superior client service.
• Provide superior employee management.
• Meet assigned financial targets.

Responsibilities 
1. Proactively manage project-related issues on account or assignment.
2. Develop scope and schedule for assigned project.
3. Conduct and document all weekly meetings.
4. Coordinate and track all Vendor RFP’s. Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation. 5. Coordinate activities of sub-contractors and relocation of technical functions.
6. Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors.
7. Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
8. Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost effective manner.
9. Ensure accurate management of all accounts receivables to maintain a level not to exceed planned working capital charge as set by MAS DC.
10. Comply with all MAS DC policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.

Qualifications
• Office or interior fit-out construction experience a plus
• Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred
• Ability to prepare and track budgets
• Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts a plus
• Flexibility with work hours as needed
• 2-3 years of practical experience in a project administration / accounting position required
• Experience in construction management or real estate preferred
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with external and internal clients
• Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
